#Preventive pediatric orthodontics

When to bring your child for the first check-up?

The most important thing to know about pediatric orthodontics is that there are many anomalies and conditions that can be identified and corrected in time.
That’s why preventive pediatric orthodontics is extremely important.
Establishing the habit of regular check-ups with an orthodontist, timely diagnosis, and starting treatment are essential for a healthy and beautiful smile for your child in both early and later stages of life.

When to bring your child for the first dental check-up?

If the child is not experiencing pain or visible dental problems, the best time for the first check-up is at the age of three. This is the period when all the baby teeth have developed, allowing the orthodontist to make an initial diagnosis and check the condition of the teeth.
It is also encouraged to take your child for a check-up even when everything seems fine, as this approach helps children overcome fear and not associate dentist visits with necessarily painful experiences.

How to recognize if your child may have a dental problem?

Certain symptoms at an early age can be indicators of potential issues in later development. Therefore, it’s important to pay attention to your child’s deep bite, protruding front teeth, lack of space in the jaw for normal tooth growth, early or late loss of baby teeth, prolonged thumb sucking, speech difficulties, teeth grinding, and unerupted permanent teeth. Early therapy, even if it cannot start immediately, can significantly ease the resolution of certain anomalies.
